The ELC is situated on 212 acres of land located approximately three miles east of the main campus of Colorado State University in Fort Collins, on the banks of the Poudre River at the end of the Poudre River Trail. It is managed through CSU's College of Natural Resources, with the staff comprised of mostly CSU students. (Visitor Center open by request.) Trails open daily, dawn to dusk.

The Lincoln Center is the City of Fort Collins' cultural arts center. The Lincoln Center features three indoor galleries, two indoor performing arts spaces and an outdoor sculpture garden. The Lincoln Center presents over 20 exhibits a year, including annual events like the Northern Colorado Artist Association National Exhibit, the Crossroads Quilt Show, and the bi-annual Colorado International Invitational Poster Exhibit.

Stargazer Observatory has been said to close the gap between earth and outer space, by allowing exploration of the outer limits through a real, working observatory. Events will be brought to life through a 14” telescope (Celestron C-14 Optical Tube Assembly) and a Bisque Paramount ME mounting system. Both are computerized to track the night sky. Stargazer Observatory also features a CCD camera that can take high-resolution pictures of the discoveries made. Stargazer Observatory is open to the public the 3rd Sunday of every month (weather permitting).
